Operation: no more bites

  1. SweepCheck every yard, balcony, drain, saucer, bucket, toy, tarp, gutter, and hidden corner.
  2. Dump + scrubEmpty removable water and scrub container walls. Aedes eggs can stick there and survive dry periods.
  3. Treat only stuck waterFor water that truly cannot be removed, use an EPA-registered Bti larvicide exactly as its label directs.
  4. Call in backupAsk LA West Vector to inspect difficult, inaccessible, or nearby breeding sources.
  5. Repeat togetherDo the sweep weekly and recruit the properties on both sides. Mosquitoes ignore property lines.

Tiny water. Big problem.

  • A container holding roughly a teaspoon of water can grow mosquitoes.
  • Change birdbaths, fountains, pet bowls, and plant-saucer water at least weekly.
  • Source elimination is the first strike. Larvicide is for water that cannot reasonably be removed.
